On 2 October 2010, complete formation of Javanese Gamelan played in Enschede. The concert performed in Grote Kerk by students and people from State University of Yogyakarta-UNY (they called it STUPA) , Ethel and students from ArtEZ Conservatory in Enschede with the Dutch composer Jacob ter Veldhuis. The concert performed beautifully, East meet West were collaborated together. The performance continue to October 3rd, in the Enschede centrum – van Heekplein together with Dutch cultural events.
Furthermore, UNY Rector, Prof. Rochmat Wahab, and some of the staff and lectures from UNY are accompany the Indonesian group while they were here in the Netherlands. On 4 October, they visited University Of Twente to discussed the possibility for university cooperation, accepted by Prof Brenny van Groesen and Stephan Maathuis. The meeting itself just last for few hours because of the limitation of time, but its expected to establish cooperation in the future.
